How To Find A Great Therapist
It is so tricky to find a great therapist, and lets be honest without a personal recommendation it is nye’on impossible to happen about a good effective massage, or any other service come to that!
I have had my share of horror treatments in my time! I had an Indian Head/scalp massage during a trip to the hairdressers during which my head was squeezed so hard from ear to ear (NOT good in any way), I was left with serious headaces and blinding migraines (something I had never had before). Thankfully I was able to ‘fix it’ with a cranial treatment, but even they can ‘go wrong’
Another time I had Cranial Sacral Therapy treatments from a recently trained practitioner, one treatment (60 mins) resulted in severe sciatica, and 4 treatments with a ‘seasoned’ practitioner to put it right!
The worst for me was just 2 weeks ago when I chanced a treatment with a sports masseuse/ physio, and got her replacement. After an agonising treatment followed by a week of not being able to breath, turn in my bed, horrendous pain going from my spine to my sternum, hip then knee, causing my left leg to collapse whilst weight-bearing, oh and a huge lump appear on one side of my spine!
The therapist in question felt that her putting a rib out during a treatment is something ‘that happens’ I wonder …. ?how often?
The treatment I received was totally inappropriate and her response totally unacceptable. Since this treatment I have had to seek advice and treatment from Osteopaths, the Chiropractor, other therapists and now Drs’
Update 8 weeks post the ‘Rib Pop Massage’
Still major issues, x-ray and treatment tomorrow. THAT massage has a very detrimental and costly impact on my life, my family holiday and my work…..
What To Look For In The Therapist & Their Qualifications.
Me!
I am a therapist with over in excess of 6,000hrs hands on working treatments during the last 5 years, beyond that of course there has been many many more. I am up to date with CPD points, fully insured and qualified to practise. Additionally, I have a PGCE in Education, I have both taught and assessed trainee students of varying abilities since 2005. I have been training and putting together Maga Therapy since the mid-80′s!
Maga Therapy Sessions
My clients will tell you the treatment I give can be one that is totally relaxing and floaty, and others will assure you it is something quite different!
One guy last week was surprised not to be able to sleep through my sports massage, but on discussion he also said he had never had such an effective treatment which was more like a sports therapy as opposed to a ‘deep-tissue or sports massage’ i.e. much more than massage.
I few years ago I stopped getting hand written notes, instead these days it tends to be emails, with permission they have been shared with you….. read how Maga Therapy can help you, even if you are pregnant, or indeed trying to become pregnant!
Stay safe, & enjoy……..
