Sort Out Your Bad Work Posture In An Instant.
You may be curious as to why I am writing about my dear friend and colleague (The ‘Original’ Mutu-Mama), alias Wendy Powell, founder of the Mutu System, new work- space & desk set up?
I recently had coffee with Wendy partly to view her new office and desk set-up!
As I sat in the perfect ‘normal’ set up which now feel like the archaic type, I watched Wendy stand and view her emails and conduct her day-to-day computer based business in what is the simplest, yet most efficient desk set up I have seen. It even had my favorite ‘gym-ball’ to sit on as an alternative to the archaic chair
Being in the middle of the ‘Fix My Life’ project the next focus of my attention is the on-going issue with my computer/desk office posture and how to ‘Fix It’. Not only is it my back and shoulders I’m addressing here: I need to get a handle on this for my children too! They have recieved no recomendations or advice to ‘correct posture at the computer/ laptop’ and I note they easily slip into the good old ‘desk slump-C-shape’ position.
I can sustain a ’bad’ position (mechanically speaking) for as long as I need to without noticing the tension and pain. I bet you can too!
How Does Your Neck Feel Right Now?
My neck muscles at the back of my head are feeling very tight (around the base of the skull) and I can feel my tension out to parts of my collar bone and both shoulders, but it ‘sore/ tense’ in different areas on each side….. If I rub my head (like the haidresser when shes washing your hair) I feel little movement, tender areas and my head had a very dull general ache, my jaw feels tight and somehow the tension is linking to the area behing my ear!
